Delaney Okoro replaces Roan Vesper on Fathom Line, six days out
Delaney Okoro has taken the second lead on Fathom Line, replacing Roan Vesper with under a week to go before the shoot starts. Two people who have seen the revised call sheet confirmed the change to us on Tuesday; the production confirmed it publicly on Wednesday morning.
The stated reason is a scheduling collision with a series Vesper is contracted to, which ran over. Vesper’s representatives say the same thing. When both sides of a late recast volunteer the same explanation without being pushed, it is usually because the explanation is boring and true.
Six days is tight but not extraordinary
What it means practically: costume fittings compress into two days, any scene with the character in the first week gets moved down the schedule if it can be, and the completion bond people get involved. It does not usually mean the film is in trouble, and it very often means a producer spent a bad weekend on the phone.
What we could not confirm
- Whether Okoro was on the original list for the part. Two people said yes, one said no, and one of the yeses was not in a position to know.
- Whether the shoot dates have moved at all. The production would not say.
Both of those are in this piece as unconfirmed because they are the kind of detail that turns into fact by repetition if a site prints it without the caveat.
